Schattle Reunion

Family reunions are a thing of the past for most families, but not the Schattle's. I love that they still have the tradition and things are still going strong. And what a unique idea of how to continue to pay for it-an annual auction! I love it! This year we finally remembered to bring something to it-and I wouldn't have had Amanda and Jodi not suggested it. A month ago we were at the lakehouse and I was trying to teach Makynzi how to roll down a hill, she finally got it after P-Paw got down there and showed her how! I managed to catch it on camera and those pictures were auctioned off this year, and actually brought in $20. WOW! Never thought they would go.

Anyhows....


The reunion was this past weekend and boy was it H-O-T HOT! But it was a good time as usual! I think my favorite part was the Auction (as usual but not for the deals I got.) Makynzi saw the cutest lil plate set that she had to have! So I told her...."If you want it you have to bid on it" and that she did! She raised her hand and when Gene (the auctioneer) didn't see her and asked any bids she hollered "ME"! It was dawwling! I love seeing her so excited about things. She won the set for $8.00 and has insisted on drinking out of the super cute cups ever since! I wish I had a video of her doing the bidding but this picture of the set will have to do instead.

Not only was this Jaxon's first reunion but it was Baby Olivia's as well and I am pretty sure she loved it as much as my kiddos did. Makynzi kept talking about playing with her cousins and I can't wait to see them grow up together doing this.




We all had such fun this weekend even though the kids were sick. For the longest we thought it was just a cold but we ended up leaving Saturday night so we could get the kids into the dr on Sunday because their fevers went up and they ended up sicker than we originally thought. As it turns out Makynzi has Bronchitis and Jaxon has a double ear infection. And as happy as these two were and still are for the most part no one would have guessed it was as bad as all that. Both are on antibiotics and slowly getting better. Hopefully they will be 100% by this weekend so we can go and enjoy the lake! I am keeping them in for the next couple of days and playing around here.
