A work in Progress

Our home is coming together!!!

When we first moved in just over a year ago this house was so .... um....not us! Yea, that's a nice way of putting it. I don't have many before pictures because I didn't think to take pictures before we moved in. But here are a few to give you some ideas...

The very first project on the list was Makynzi's room. The room was way too dark for a lil girl because it started out like this.

Then it looked like this...but only for long enough for me to take a picture...

And finally it looks like this-well most of the time
But since she is two and loves her babies sometimes it ends up looking more like this...

Then we moved on to the kitchen to take crazy wallpaper down! Seriously just looking at it would make me dizzy! But while we were doing it we uncovered 2 more layers of wallpaper that just should NOT have been in a kitchen or anywhere for that matter! One was all the colors of pastel in babies rooms and the other was itty bitty flowers...everywhere!!

After removing it we floated the walls and eventually....that's why I say work in progress because it was about 8 months later..we primed..

and then we primed it with a primer tinted w/the red we wanted to use....

...and painted....

now we have to just put up the final paint (w/ textured b/c I'm not loving the homemade smooth walls) and put up the molding! And decorate of course!

While the kitchen was on hold it was on to Baby Jaxon's room...it was a junk room and looked a lil like this at the beginning....but don't tell my hubby I showed ya...

then while the paint was drying it looked like this....

Finally we got the border up after hours of work- Just some lil FYI even if the border is self adhesive add some extra or it will keep on a fallin...so back to the room...we got it up and left for dinner. Only to return to 1/2 the wallpaper down.

But finally the room was ready for Lil man to come home to!

Our bedroom was next on the list. The border in the room was the pits to get off and the walls were so in need of a paint job!

Here is what we have done so far. Now to get curtains up and decorate!

And don't you love the quote "Always Kiss Me Goodnight" It's words to live by! Mandie got it for my bday last year and we've just gotten around to getting it above the bed.

The living room and playroom came next.

The molding is now up but needs to be painted, caulked and the walls need a fresh coat of paint.

Next comes the restrooms...they are works in progress like the rest of the house but here's a sneak peek.

The Master Bath
The Kids Bath at the beginning

and w/ the new shower curtain Makynzi picked out

But eventually- well I'm seriously hoping eventually- it will be complete!
