We are still here!

Summer is Hot. Hot.Hot. this year so we have been doing as many indoor activities as we possibly can.
But, I don't have many pictures to prove it because on our only trip to the beach this year our camera ended up with sand in it. Even though it was in the car the entire time. So pictures are far and few in between. I finally got the sand out and the lense to open last night only to realize the batteries are now dead. Why can't there be batteries that just last?

My one beach pic. Isn't he a cutie!

Anyway...what's new in our house? Well Sissy is now a full fledged 5 year old and doesn't hesitate to let us know that. She is looking forward to starting Kindergarten in a few weeks and her reading class really did pay off. She can read about 20 sight words now and we have been working on teaching her how to sound words out.

Bubba is still potty trained and we haven't had to go back to diapers even once. I have wanted to BELIEVE.ME but resisted and just change the night time accidents when they happen. Luckily they are far and few in between and only at night time. Oh, and he's almost 2-1/2 now and has not only a million words but now he is naming more colors....mostly pink and blue....but he knows orange and red and a couple others with prompting. And counting! Wow let me tell ya. Makynzi and I were counting something and he surprised both of us by counting right along with us! He can count to 6 without help and if we tell him 6 then he can go to 9.
Heading to story time w/o Sissy for the first time

Jaxon absolutely loves anything that has to do with sports. So when we were at a new play place this week I captured this with my phone. He had a blast and did pretty well! Especially for being 2! I see tball in his future! I need to figure out how to upload pix off the kids Ipod so I can show y'all the soccer tots pix too. He's our lil sports star already!

Can ya tell I am one proud mommy? Because I sure am!

I had a MOPS retreat last weekend and went into it with mixed feelings. It was my first time away from my babies for that long of time and I debated going but in the end we all did wonderfully and I am so glad that I did. I really connected with the other moms on the leadership team and feel more connected to God than I did before. The retreat also helped me to realize that everyone messes up whether big or small and it's okay. That is why Jesus died. So we can and he forgives us. I knew that before I went but somehow during the devotionals and talking with the other ladies it really clicked. I am looking forward to an awesome year this year and being more involved. Baby Jax and I will also be doing a Bible Study once a week and I know we will both love it. If only we can keep him from screaming the whole way through the meetings like he has for the past 2 years.

Oh and another new thing in the house....we have a pet fish...his name is Gil. Have you seen the movie Something About Bob ? Well he has a fish named Gil and it just seemed fitting for us to name Gil Gil because we love that movie. The funnies part is that in the movie he says "Good Morning Gil, I said good morning Gil" and it's so funny the hear the kids say the same thing.

One last thing that's happened lately is I finally went in to get some relief for my back. I'm praying the shots I got in it yesterday work and I don't have to have anymore because I so hate shots. Yesterday I spent most of the day sleeping on mom's couch while she helped out with the kids and Monty was at work. And today I am doing a bit better but still in a great deal of pain and about to go lay back down on the couch here at our house. The kids are being great big helps and not going far from me for fear I will fall over in pain. But I'm doing so much better and according to the doctor within a week my back and leg will be good as new! Pray it works that way.

Anything else new? Let's see.....Yes! The kids are swimming so so so good! Makynzi can jump off the diving board and swim to the side all by herself now and did it about 20 times in a row last week. And Jaxon can jump  in and glide about 10 feet to me under water. I am just so proud of these babies! And love all the little things they do on a daily basis.

These are the last of Makynzi's bday pix. They were left on the camera I just got working.

Just remind me of that when they start school so I'm not a blabbering fool.
