Happy Easter 2012!

Every year the week up to Easter is filled with lots of egg hunting and celebrating, except for this year. We were sick the weekend before so missed 2 egg hunts that we usually do so the kids only hunted eggs at church after the service on Good Friday and again today at the house (twice). They love hiding them and hunting them over and over again so why not? This year the reason for Easter has really set in with the kids and they have been telling each other over and over that Jesus died for our sins and came back to life and went to heaven on Easter. They showed this video at church that the kids really understood.

 

I love, love, love that they get it now and realize that the Easter Bunny and candy isn't why we are celebrating today. Oh and about that... Friday morning while the kids were playing, I overheard Makynzi explaining to Jaxon that there isn't an Easter bunny and that all it is is a person in a costume so he didn't need to cry when we saw her at church because he's a big kid and it's not real. I was like wow? She's over this? Nope, we talked about it and she said there may be a real one somewhere getting ready for Easter but just any one that Jaxon saw is a character LOL Okay! Gotcha :) 

We have had so much fun today celebrating with family and now the kids are watching HOP while soaking their feet for pedicures. Happy Easter Y'all!
