Zoo field trip and Teddy Bear Picnic

Yesterday was the 1st grade field trip to the zoo and I was able to go with them. Makynzi's teacher hung out with our little group and it was great chatting with her and getting to know her a bit better. We love the zoo and actually got an annual pass this year so that we can go more often and not worry about whether or not we saw everything in one day. Take for instance the sea lions. The kids love the sea lions and the past two times we have gone they have been working on their pool so we didn't get to see them. But with the promise of coming back soon they weren't as upset about them not being there as they would have been in the past.

 There is a new exhibit at the zoo that's the African Jungle. It's one of Makynzi's favorite places. They have those little round huts to play in, a 4d theatre, chimps, zebras, rhinos and some more animals. It also has these drums that the girls were loving playing on and they sounded so pretty!

 This morning as we were heading to school Jaxon reminded me to take his picture with Buzz Lightyear. He is having his first ever Teddy Bear picnic and this is the stuffed animal he chose to picnic with. It stormed something terrible last nigh so I'm sure it will be indoors but he was still excited just the same.

And of course since it rained all night we have puddles that needed to be jumped in over and over.
