Show Your Helping Hand Giveaway

Fighting hunger in our country is a cause close to my heart. I hate hearing about children in other countries that need food and shelter when there are so many sweet children here who don't have food on their plate (or even a plate to eat off of) because their parents can't .... or sometimes won't....feed them. How devestating is it that we live in a country with so much luxery and yet there are still kids who don't have a full belly when they go to bed at night.  A couple days ago the Local Fire department left paper sacks to fill up at the house. We filled a bag full with some non-parishables, including a box of Hamburger Helper, that was given to us by My Blog Spark, and a toy that Makynzi wanted to donate. How amazing is it to be able to help someone in need.

I am doing my best to teach my kids about helping others and hope to pass the message on to others as well. To raise awareness about the national issue of hunger, Hamburger Helper® is partnering with GRAMMY® Award-winning singer, songwriter and actor Tim McGraw to help Feeding America deliver millions of meals to local food banks through the Show Your Helping Hand™ campaign. McGraw will lend his voice to the campaign through a Public Service Announcement which will be distributed nationwide.

If you are wondering how you can help, You can help support the campaign by submitting codes from specially marked boxes of Hamburger Helper at Show Your Helping Hand or by logging on to make a donation. Hamburger Helper has already donated more than half a million dollars and will contribute up to an additional $100,000 to Feeding America through this program.

Don´t think one code will make a difference? The 17¢ Hamburger Helper donates per code is enough for Feeding America to deliver one meal to a local food bank.

Hamburger Helper, through MyBlogSpark, is offering one of my readers the same pack they sent me: a box of Hamburger Helper (which we donated), a foam Helping Hand, and a copy of Tim McGraw’s “Southern Voice” CD
